Does anyone do this anymore? Anywhere in the world? I search my memory, but I cannot remember this occurring recently. It should. This is an amazing display of humanity.

Former Essen Krupp Servants for Book/Film

leave a comment »

Did any of your German relatives work for Alfred Krupp at either Klosterbuschhof from 1864-1873 or at Villa Hugel from 1873-1880?

Did they pass down stories in your family about their work at Villa Hugel or Klosterbuschhof?

If yes, your stories passed on to you from your deceased loved ones could appear in an upcoming book and documentary film on the Krupp family.

Please email your stories in German or English to info@davidstroebel.com

You will receive full credit for all stories that appear in the book and documentary film.

Why a Documentary Film on Engelbertha Krupp?

This is the story of Engelbertha Krupp Stroebele, banished and disinherited from Germany’s premier steel family of Essen, known today as ThyssenKrupp AG. Engelbertha was banished and disinherited in 1874 for the impeachable offense of falling in love with, and disobey her father’s orders to break off a wedding engagement with a poor shoemaker, my great-grandfather, at the Krupp estate in Essen. Her father, Alfred Krupp, would not allow such an inexperienced, uneducated man as my great-grandfather to one day manage the vast and lucrative Krupp steel works. This story is told through century-old photographs revelations and documents with the assistance of three elderly relatives. Engelbertha hid her true identity from her children while living in her new home in Jersey City, New Jersey. The findings of my investigation into her true identity appears in my book, The Cannon King’s Daughter (Barnes & Noble) and featured in Germany’s Der Spiegel news magazine. It is my hope that by making a documentary film, added pressure on the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Foundation will force them to release additional photographic and other evidence of her existence in Essen which has been denied because of the disappearance of her baptism record feared destroyed by an enraged, vengeful father for ultimately forcing him to name his least-capable son, Friedrich, as the heir to his steel empire. Engelbertha Krupp has the basic, essential human right to have her baptismal record restored by the Protestant Church of Essen and the Alfried Krupp Foundation must recognize and accept her position in the Krupp family as the daughter of Alfred and Bertha Krupp. #BanishedKrupp

Translation of 20-page German document

leave a comment »

I have a 20-page document in German needing translating to English regarding the circumstances surrounding Alfred Krupp’s illegitimate son, Wilhelm Lobbert, who reportedly by Burkhart Beyer, settled in the United States. Seeking 4-5 volunteers who are motivated and capable research partners to analyze, interpret and compile finding into a professionally-written journal. Seeking to identify surviving descendants of Wilhelm Lobbert for the purposes of learning new details of his connection to Alfred Krupp, from Germany’s Krupp steel dynasty and to obtain and compare DNA samples to confirm Engelbertha Krupp Stroebele’s banishment from the Krupp family. If you are willing to help by translating this 20-page document, you will be doing so as a member of my research team. All appropriate credit will be given for all work you do.
